The Gun Conundrum

We pay the police to get weapons off the street with one hand and prevent controls that would help keep guns off the streets with the other hand.

When the police collect weapons during a raid, they show the weapons cache and announce they have gotten dangerous arms off the street.

Every year the police in Los Angeles county have anonymous gun collections, and in exchange for turning in guns people get food or other gift certificates. When they are successful, they announce they have gotten dangerous weapons off the streets.

The objective of these efforts is to get weapons off the streets.

We need gun control in order to help the police do their job.

When are we going to recognize the collective madness of building ever larger private arsenals of assault weapons while decrying the increase of mass shooter events.

Feeling angry, upset or psychotic? Then buy an AR 15 or generic knock off and go to a crowded dark location where people will have difficult getting away and get famous.

We need to stop being a bunch of whining hypocrites and man up and get the military weapons out of the public hands. Now. Stop blaming some Shia or Sunni dude who lives in the 3rd world and doesn’t know anything about our country. Boohoo, ISIL hurt us in the U.S. Bull. We are hurting us.

First, we have to accept that murder is normal. It doesn’t require a person to be mentally ill or to be trained in a 3rd world country. Anyone can be a murderer. The best we can do is slow them down. Make it as hard to get an assault rifle as it is to get a fully automated machine gun.

Why are machine guns prohibited? After Bonnie and Clyde used machine guns to rob banks, laws were passed making owning a machine gun an activist try that required a special federal license and being added to a federal database and permission from federal authorities. No one wanted to go through all that, so when machine guns were banned no one cared because few were owned.

The 2nd amendment gives states the rights to have armed militias. It was never intended to make it possible for everyone to be able to shoot 50 to 100 accurate kill shots in civilian life without reloading. WTF? Have we lost our collective minds? The NRA got bought out by the AH’s selling assault rifles?

This is what we need to do:

  • If your gun can five over 5 shots without reloading, then you must be printed, photographed and entered into a national security database. If over 5 shots and under 10 shots, you must pass an in person background check with the FBI and your employer and family must be notified.  If over 10 shots than you need to check in on a monthly basis with your federal case worker to prove you work status and provide an explanation and location for every bullet you have purchased and every bullet you have fired
  • All lethal ammunition sales must be stopped immediately. Only non-lethal ammunition can be produced and sold. Every bullet sold will have a serial number micro printed on each bullet. A national ammunition database will keep track of every piece of ammunition bought in the country, when and by who me and when it is discharged. Every gun owner will keep a log of every bullet by serial number.
  • Effective immediately, all assault style guns will be illegal and possession will be a crime with minimu mandatory sentencing.

An Unbelievable Story of Rape – ProPublica

Women don’t report rape, and after you read what happened to a young woman who bravely spoke up and was punished for it, you’ll be closer to understanding why.

Yet, our society still continues to promote a mythology that women make up rape charges. And continues to honor men who have committed rape.
